THE GOOD NEWS
All things we do as a church, and the reason for our existence, is because of God’s gift of forgiveness through His Son, Jesus. Above everything else, we want you to know that God the Father and Jesus His Son loves you and they have a plan, a great plan for your life.
People live their lives trying to earn God’s approval. No one can earn God’s approval by following rituals, rules, attending religious services or being a “good person”. The fact is, to have a fulfilling life and an eternal future in heaven, one must have a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
- God Loves You.
The love of God is for all mankind, every man, woman, boy and girl. He desires that you have continuous unbroken fellowship with Him. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-5)
- You’re a sinner.
All of mankind are “sinners” in that they disobey God. Sin is rejecting the life, death and resurrection of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, as the payment for being a sinner. Sin is choosing your own way and doing your own thing and not being submissive to God. (Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10)
- Sin separates you from God.
Sin forms a barrier that keeps you from having a continual, unbroken relationship and fellowship with God, who is Holy. You can not have a relationship with God as an unholy person. You’re instead pursuing a Godless life that the Bible said will lead to Hell.
(Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23) - You can’t save yourself.
Mankind usually thinks that through their efforts they can conquer and overcome the sin barrier between themselves and God. That is a lie. There is nothing you can do by works to restore the unbroken relationship with God. No one earns God’s plan of salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-5)
- Through Jesus Christ, God’s Son, your sin is forgiven.
It was the through Jesus Christ dying on the cross, God’s only begotten Son that answered the sin question and removed the barrier of sin between you and God. Jesus loved the world so He died paying the penalty for sin with His life. Like God’s love, his power to forgive is infinite. In spite of your shortcomings, in spite of your sins, God offers you immediate forgiveness and eternal life when you accept Jesus Christ as your savior.
- Receive Jesus Christ through faith.
Faith means repentance or genuine heartfelt sorrow for sin and a willingness to turn away from sin and toward God. Faith is belief in what Jesus has done for you instead of trusting your own endeavors to restore a relationship and fellowship with God. Faith is complete dependence on Jesus Christ to be in right standing with God, allowing Him to live His will and life through you. (John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10)
- Through prayer, you can begin a life trusting in Jesus Christ.
First, recognize and admit to God that you are a sinner. Speak out loud your sorrow and repentance to God for being a sinner. Ask Him to forgive, remove and wash your sins by His Blood. Ask Jesus into your life to be your Savior and your Lord. From this moment on, dedicate and commit yourself to live for Him forever.
- Now upon your confession of faith we welcome you to the Family of God – the body of Christ.
To enhance your new beginning, we encourage and admonish you to ask your Heavenly Father for guidance to attend a Bible-believing church. It is very important to your spiritual growth to become a part of a fellowship with other believers. (Hebrews 10:25)
